It is Martin Holmes who has a poor recollection of the facts about Central Winchester Regeneration (Chronicle, Letters, March 14).
It was the Liberal Democrats that tied the city council into a contract with a single developer without tendering that led to years of delay earlier this century.
It was the Conservatives that invested £15m buying up the bus station, the old Friarsgate surgery and Kings Walk, assembling a very valuable single site that has been ready for development since 2019.
Nothing substantive has happened since, so I urge the LibDem council to get on with it.
Cllr Stephen Godfrey,
Winchester City Council,
Wonston and Micheldever Ward,
Downs Road,
South Wonston
Letter Editor's note: For clarity, Central Winchester Regeneration is also or even better known as Silver Hill.
