GOOD news for children and their parents.
Everyone Active has confirmed that maintenance work on its splash pad is due to finish in a few weeks time.
As previously reported, Winchester Leisure Centre closed the water play area in January due to a fault with rubber flooring.
An Everyone Active spokesperson said at the time that work was unlikely to be completed before April.
The Hampshire Chronicle has now been told that Winchester Leisure Centre expects the work to be completed by the Easter holidays, with Good Friday on March 29.

Alison Lewis, area contract manager, said: “We can confirm that work is currently underway to replace the splashpad flooring with an upgraded material at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park.
“The work is progressing well and we expect that it will reopen to the public before the Easter weekend.
“We thank customers for bearing with us and we are excited to welcome visitors back very soon.”
