A RARE freehold development site in Winchester city centre is to be auctioned.
Fronting St George's Street, the infill plot is being sold with planning consent for the construction of a ground-floor retail unit with a two-bedroom self-contained apartment on the first and second floors.
The site is being sold with a guide price of £125,000 to £135,000.
Rob Marchant, the Hampshire auctioneer with Clive Emson Auctioneers, said: “Once completed, the commercial and residential units are considered ideal for re-sale into the local marketplace or retention for their ongoing income-producing potential.

“This is a rare freehold development site in the cathedral city and we anticipate keen interest.”
Also being auctioned is a semi-detached house, with planning permission to add two houses, at 1 Fox Lane, in Stanmore. The guide price for this site is more than £600,000.
Planning permission was granted by Winchester City Council in February for two two-bedroom houses, following the demolition of a single-storey side wing of the property.
Clive Emson Auctioneers has 147 lots listed in its March auction, the second of eight across southern England this year.
The auction ends on Wednesday March 20; bidding opens 48 hours beforehand.
