A HAMPSHIRE kebab business has been crowned Kebab Van of the Year at the British Kebab Awards.
The BOSS Kebab van was announced the winner at an awards ceremony last night (February 27) at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London.
Having only opened next to McCarthy’s farm shop in Winchester Road, between Shedfield and Wickham, three years ago, this was the first time the team had been nominated.

Owner, Siyam Er, 40, from Park Gate in Fareham, said: “I’m really delighted and happy. We have got the certificate on the front of the van to let everyone know. The staff have been asking if we could close today to celebrate but we have to work and serve our wonderful customers.
“All the staff will be getting extra wages as promised. Without the good team we wouldn’t be anything. We care about our food and customers. We should always be making the customers happy.
“I was quite surprised to win but also expected it as we work so hard. In three years we have become so popular. The awards ceremony was so busy. I’ve been to weddings but nothing as big as that. There was amazing food, people and entertainment.”
BOSS Kebab posted a video from the ceremony on Facebook with the caption: “Thank you very much for all the support from my lovely customers.”
More than 1,200 guests joined the 12th British Kebab Awards celebration. Nominations are already open for next year.
As well as kebabs the Hampshire business offers pizzas and breakfast and also has a café in Gosport. For more information go to thebosscooks.co.uk/.
