A Hampshire charity is marking its 40th anniversary with a year-long time capsule project.
The Brendoncare Foundation was established on February 14, 1984, and will be burying the capsule at the close of the year in the grounds of Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill.
The capsule will be filled with photographs, stories, and poems, showcasing the festivities taking place in Brendoncare's care homes and community clubs, as the charity celebrates four decades of improving older people's quality of life.
Celebrations will include farm animals visiting St Giles View, a heart-themed party, and a 40th-anniversary celebration at Otterbourne Hill, complete with guests from Brendoncare Meadway and Brendoncare Knightwood.
A Valentine's lunch has also been held at Brendoncare Stildon.
The charity is also releasing a cover of Stevie Wonder's I Just Called to Say I Love You, performed by residents, staff, volunteers, and club members.
Marianne Wanstall, Brendoncare’s chief executive, said: "Our anniversary gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate with all the wonderful people – our residents and mews residents and their relatives, community members, our colleagues and volunteers, who make Brendoncare the vibrant, forward-thinking organisation it is today."
