AN ACTOR from Romsey is making a homecoming as he appears in Blood Brothers at Southampton Mayflower.
Joe Sleight is appearing in the lead role of Eddie in the play, which is running from Tuesday, February 27 to Saturday, March 2.
He grew up in Romsey, attending Halterworth and Mountbatten schools, before studying at Brockenhurst College and Guildford School of Acting where he received a First-Class honours degree in musical theatre.

He told the Advertiser: “Acting has always been a lifelong dream of mine. From the age of six when my dad made me a stage in our back garden to perform musicals and plays featuring other neighbourhood kids performing alongside me.
“I have, of course, had my share of side jobs (including as a Sainsbury’s delivery driver and burger flipper) but I’ve made a living out of acting, from touring shows to performing in the West End.
“I remember saying to my mum at the age of 12, when Blood Brothers was in town, ‘One day I’ll play Eddie in Blood Brothers’ and that dream has finally come true. It’s a huge full circle moment for me and I feel so blessed to be performing in this show eight times a week, let alone in my hometown.”

Joe wanted to thank his family and friends for the support they have given him in his journey to become an actor. He added: “Thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve given me over the year!”
Blood Brothers tells the story of a twin Eddie and Mickey who are separated at birth in 1970s Liverpool. When the pair reunite years later as two very different people, it sparks a tragic turn of events.
The play will be at the Mayflower Theatre, Commercial Road, Southampton From February 27 to March 2.
