A HAIR salon is opening up its second base in a new location, taking over a former bike shop.
Browns Hair Lounge is opening in the previous Chase Cycles store in Waltham Chase.
The family-owned business is hoping to open the new salon, in Winchester Road, next month and is currently recruiting a style director, senior stylist, graduate stylist and an apprentice.
Alison Noble, 54, who set up Browns Hair Lounge in Hedge End with her mum Pat Brown 20 years ago, said: “My home life has changed so it finally felt like time for salon number two. It’s something we have been thinking of for a few years but I now have the time to give it what it needs.

“We’re looking to replicate what we do in Hedge End and bring it to Waltham Chase which is a fantastic location.
“We’ve had a really positive response. Certainly, everyone thinks it’s a great location with car parking around the back and on a busy road. Local people from what I gather are up for having a salon there too. I believe it was a hair salon before it became Chase Cycles.
“All the staff are really excited. Instead of our usual team meeting we all went over there to visit so they could get to see the before and after.

“We want to help out in the community and with the schools where we can. In Hedge End we support the summer fairs and take on work experience pupils from the schools. We want to be a part of Waltham Chase.”
Alison and business partner and mum Pat Brown are hoping to employ two or three more staff members to start with, adding to their team of around 12 in Lower Northam Road in Hedge End.
