I had the pleasure of taking my 80-year-old mother to see Guys & Dolls at the Theatre Royal in Winchester. Initially, I hadn't set high expectations for the show, especially considering we hadn't ventured up to London's West End as we usually would due to my mother's limited mobility.
Little did we know that this production was put on by the local amateur dramatic club ENCORE Youth Theatre. Our experience, however, exceeded all expectations, leaving us both utterly amazed and thoroughly entertained.
From the moment it started, we were captivated by the extraordinary talent displayed by these young performers. The acting and singing were nothing short of outstanding, showcasing a level of skill and professionalism that rivalled even the most seasoned performers. My mother and I were completely blown away by the calibre of the performance. In fact, I dare say it may have surpassed what we would have witnessed in London's theatre district!
