ROADWORKS which were disrupting drivers in a village near Romsey have finally ended.
Salisbury Road, in Sherfield English, reopened yesterday (February 14) after Southern Water reinstated the water main.
The utility company repaired a water leak in Graemer Lane over the weekend and the road remained closed for four days.
A spokesperson for Southern Water previously said: “Our teams have been on site to repair a leak on a water main in Graemer Lane. Traffic management was required for the work to be carried out safely.”
The blocked road caused journey times for Sherfield English residents and regular A27 users to increase with drivers being diverted along the A36. The road was blocked between Steplake Lane by Sherfield Sports Field and Melchet Park.
