Tickets are already selling fast as the first four inspirational speakers are revealed for this year's TEDxWinchester.
The independent, self-organised event, is licenced by TED in the spirit of ideas worth sharing and it is supported by the University of Winchester and Dutton Gregory Solicitors.
The theme of this year’s event - the fourth time it has taken place - is ‘illuminate’. Speakers will come from the diverse worlds of technology, fashion, diversity, and art to share their ideas and stories in 18-minute presentations throughout the day.
The first four TEDxWinchester speakers have been announced this week.
They are Jennie Maizels, an illustrator, pop-up book creator and lecturer, Tiffany St James, a digital strategist and founder of consultancy, Transmute, Emily Monsell Holden, a Winchester resident, and wild swimmer and Pascal Matthias, an associate vice-president (EDI and social justice) and a senior teaching fellow in fashion marketing and management in the Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton.

TEDxWinchester curator Jan Carlyle said: “We’re thrilled to be able to run this event for the fourth time. We are keen to make this event as inclusive as possible. TEDxWinchester will again be held at the West Downs Centre on Romsey Road on Friday, June 14, from 10am until 4pm.
University of Winchester vice-chancellor Prof Sarah Greer said: “We’re proud to be sponsoring TEDx in Winchester this year. As a university community, we seek to discover new ideas and understand new perspectives. We aim to provide an environment where knowledge can be created and shared. TEDx creates an important space for this to happen. TEDxWinchester is also being supported by Dutton Gregory Solicitors. Established in the city in 1948, Dutton Gregory Solicitors has evolved into a law firm that serves a wide variety of clients across the UK.

As well as being partnered by the University of Winchester and Dutton Gregory Solicitors TEDxWinchester is being supported by several local businesses including Rocket Launch, We Mean This and RCM.
