PLAYGROUND users in Kings Worthy are still waiting for the play tower and the zipline to reopen at Eversley Park. It’s been more than a month since Kings Worthy Parish Council said it was waiting for replacement parts to be sent and fitted.
The parish council posted on Facebook: “Tower opening – We apologise for the delay in opening the tower but we have been waiting for a decision on an item raised during the final inspection. Replacement parts are being sent by the manufacturer and will be fitted as soon as possible.
“Zipline – We are still actively chasing the re-painting of the support legs and are awaiting a painting schedule from the contractor.
“We sincerely apologise for the delay in these works, and we are actively chasing to get these issues resolved.”
A BRIDGE tea is being held in aid of St Mary’s Church Easton Fabric Fund on Tuesday, April 30 from 2 to 5pm. Tickets to the tea at Homewood in Worthy Park cost £80 per table.
ITCHEN Valley residents are maintaining their tradition of having a lunch of soup, bread and cheese every Friday throughout Lent. This year the events will be raising money for Hampshire charity Youth Options.
The first lunches will be from midday until 2pm on February 16 at Homewood in Worthy Park, February 23 at The Farmyard in Easton and March 1 at Meadows in Martyr Worthy. Everyone in the area is welcome.
ITCHEN Valley litter pick returns on Saturday, March 16. More details will be released next month. Littleton and Harestock Parish Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE) is also planning a Spring Clean. Anyone interested in giving up a few hours to improve the verges should contact the parish clerk at clerk@lhpc.org.uk.
LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Council is asking dog owners to be more cautious when using the recreation ground. The parish council has received multiple reports from recreation ground users of dogs that are “not under control and jumping up at them inappropriately”.
In its latest newsletter, the parish council said: “To ensure that the recreation ground is a pleasant place for all to use, please can we ask dog owners to keep control of their dogs, especially around other users of the recreation ground.”
THE Parochial Church Councils of Chilbolton, Crawley, Littleton, Sparsholt and Wherwell are holding a licensing service for their new Rector Revd Kevin Rogers St Stephen’s Church in Sparsholt. The service, on Tuesday, March 19 at 7.30pm, will be followed by a welcome reception in Sparsholt Memorial Hall.
Anyone planning on going should let John or Sally Wesley know by completing the sign-up sheet in St Stephen’s Church or by contacting the benefice office by Tuesday, March 5.
SPARSHOLT Church of England Primary School raised nearly £200 for Winchester Hospice from its ‘Dress to Express’ day before the half term holiday. The pupils wore outfits that they felt represented them.
SPARSHOLT Music has announced that its December concert raised £900 for the village. Plans are underway for the next performance on April 14 at Sparsholt Memorial Hall and tickets will be available for £10 from March 22 at sparsholtmusic.org/. Tickets include tea and a slice of homemade cake.
