A WINCHESTER school has been listed as one of the top 50 state schools in the UK.
Westgate School, on Cheriton Road, Fulflood, placed ninth on The Times' top 50 schools for high attainment in 2024.
The school is the only one in Hampshire to make the top 10.
The Times Parent Power School Guide ranks schools across the United Kingdom based on exam results.

According to the guide, 27.3 per cent of grades achieved at GCSE at Westgate School are an A*/9/8.
Meanwhile, 17.2 per cent of grades achieved are an A/7, while 44.5 per cent of grades achieved are an A*/A/9/8/7.
The only other Hampshire schools to appear on the league table were Kings’ School, also in Winchester, in joint 15th place, and Saint George Catholic College, Southampton, which got the 22nd spot.
The Westgate School has been reached for comment.
