We heartily agree with Richard Wetherill’s comments regarding the ‘Crass monotony’ of development on Kings Barton (Chronicle, Letters, February 1).
However, we must correct his, frankly ridiculous, assumption that the closure of Andover Road has anything to do with the residents of Andover Road.
Nothing could be further from the truth. We were never approached by Cala Homes regarding this and, had we been, it would have made no difference whatsoever to our strong objection to a development of 2,000 houses being built on the open fields opposite our house.
The decision was made entirely by Cala Homes for their own purposes.
