HAMPSHIRE Police has launched a scheme to bring back ‘local bobbies’ to cover the beat in specific areas.
PC Tristan Pugh will cover Valley Park, Chilworth, Nursling and Rownhams, tackling issues highlighted by residents such as parking, speeding and fly-tipping.
PC Ben Blundell has been allocated to the Blackwater area including Awbridge, Wellow, Sherfield English and Melchet Park and Plaitford.
PC Glen Dawber will be the local bobby for Michelmersh, Timsbury, Lockerley, East Dean, East Tytherley, West Tytherley, Buckholt, King’s Somborne and Frenchmoor.

Meanwhile, PC Mark Pannell will lead the way for Romsey. In the wider area, PC Charlotte Thorpe will cover Chandler’s Ford.
The scheme means that anyone can know who their local bobby is and find their email and direct mobile number, making them more accessible.
Local bobbies will stay in touch with communities, by addressing their concerns and root causes of local crimes by working closely with partner agencies to identify the best problem-solving approach.
To check who’s responsible for each area go to police.uk/pu/your-area/hampshire-constabulary/. Anyone who requires police assistance should continue to report via the usual 101/999 channels.
