A GROUP of Network Rail workers saved two dogs who had found their way onto the line in a village on the Hampshire border.
Luckily, Network Rail was busy working on the line in West Dean and was able to catch two Vizlas who had escaped their owners.
After safely getting hold of the pets, the workmen phoned up Wiltshire voluntary group Solstice Missing Dogs who reunited the four-legged-friends with their owners.
Volunteer Karen Boyce, 57, from Durrington, collected the dogs shortly after receiving the call at lunchtime on Thursday, January 25.

Karen, who’s been volunteering for 20 years, said: “We’ve built up a really good relationship with Network Rail. Sadly, we have so many deaths on the railway. We were massively grateful to the staff at Network Rail for catching them and giving us a call.
“The owners were so happy. They were on are walk and the dogs just ran off and got quite far too.
“We’re just a small team of seven, based all over Wiltshire, doing this for local people. The amount of dogs we deal with is really inconsistent on a week-to-week basis.
“The best thing anyone can do if they come across a stray dog is not to chase or call them, as they will go into survival mode, but see if they will approach you and then call us.”
