THE parents of a Romsey man are beaming with pride after their son fulfilled his dream of joining the army.
Their son has been commissioned as an army officer at Sandhurst.
The former Halterworth Primary School and Mountbatten pupil joined Sandhurst in September 2022 and this year will start training at Larkhill, in Wiltshire, as a Second Lieutenant.
Mum Debbie Mayo, a recently retired teacher from Halterworth Primary, said: “We were amazed but proud that he had been selected.
“We are proud of the education that he received at our local Romsey schools - from Abbotswood Day Nursery, to Halterworth Primary and then to Mountbatten Academy and finally Barton Peveril College which all helped to shape his character and provide the skills he needed for success. He has now started his young officer training and is loving every minute.”
