PARTS of the Meon Valley are currently facing a power cut.
According to the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) website, the power outage was reported at approximately 7.18am, with the company aiming to restore power by 4pm.
The electricity provider estimates that 22 homes are affected by the outage in the Knowle area.
A note on SSEN’s website says: “We’re very sorry for the power cut and are aware of a fault on our main network affecting 22 homes. This is affecting a large area and it’s likely several streets in your area are affected by the same outage.

“Our engineers are in your local area and working hard to get your power restored as soon as possible.
“The cause of this power cut is a fault in our underground network. This is the most common type of fault we see, and our teams are very experienced in dealing with these issues. In most cases, our engineers are able to restore power by simply replacing a fuse at a local substation, however, if the fault is severe this may result in us needing to make full repairs which can take longer.”
