A ROMSEY violinist is taking part in a unique musical challenge to raise money for a Hampshire hospice.
Laura Rickard will join musicians from across the county taking part in Tchaikathon at the Turner Sims concert hall in Southampton on Sunday, March 3.
It will be a whole day of the best works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, raising money for Mountbatten Hospice.

There will be three concerts at 11am, 3pm and 7.30pm. The programme includes favourites such as: Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture; Swan Lake Ballet Suite; Nutcracker Ballet Suite; Violin Concerto in D major; Sleeping Beauty Ballet Suite; and Piano Concerto No 1 in B flat. Also symphonies four, five and six.
Joining Laura, will be piano soloist Keelan Carew, Romsey Sinfonietta conductor Craig Lawton and Southampton Concert Orchestra conductor Paul Ingram.
This isn't the first time a musical challenge like this has been done. Haydathon was in 2009, Beethovathon was in 2015 and Orchestral Decathlon was in 2017.
