THE Wonston Community café has managed to raise more than £500 for the women’s section of the Royal British Legion.
The money was raised through a combination of a raffle and the sales of coffee, tea and cakes, along with extra donations. The local community police were also in attendance, chatting with members of the public who were in Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney, and answering questions.
The next Wonston Community Café will be at the Victoria Hall, from 9.30am to 12noon on Wednesday, February 21, raising funds to support Read Easy Winchester, the local charity helping adults learn to read. Set up in 2015, Read Easy Winchester covers Andover, Romsey, Eastleigh/Chandlers Ford and surrounding areas. The café will once again be selling tea, coffee and cakes, and is cash only. Free parking will be available.
