DESPITE promises from Southern Water that residents would see supplies return to normal, further water shortages have been reported in the Winchester area.
This comes after the water supply company dealt with outages caused by issues at Easton Water Supply Works on Friday, January 12.
Residents have been reporting continuing water outages in areas of Kings Worthy, which had previously seen supply issues, as well as a water leak in Legion Lane.

Two further water leaks, on the B3047 from the Martyr Worthy Memorial to Easton and on Chillandham Lane, Itchen Abbas, have been reported.
The latest problems come after a private hospital was impacted on Monday for several hours causing operations to be postponed.
A spokesperson for Sarum Road Hospital, said: “The safety of our patients is of paramount importance. A decision was taken on Monday to cancel a small number of inpatient surgeries due to water supply issues locally. This impacted the hospital in a small way.
"We worked closely with Southern Water to rectify the problem swiftly and services resumed by 4pm. Affected patients have been contacted directly, with alternative dates for their treatment arranged.”
Today, on the Southern Water website, two incidents in Winchester have been listed, one in the SO21 1AS postcode and another in the SO21 1DY postcode. Both alerts are for burst water pipes.
The latest updates on the burst pipes says: “We are aware of a burst in SO21 1DY. Our team is on the way to investigate and make the necessary repairs. Sometimes repairs take longer than we’d like, as we need to complete numerous checks and tests. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your patience.”
A Southern Water spokesperson said “We’re sorry customers in Kings Worthy, Easton and Martyr Worthy are experiencing low pressure or no water.
“Our teams are repairing two burst water mains near Martyr Worthy, this was a result of the colder weather we’re experiencing. Due to one of the pipes being close to another utility, repairing this burst may take several hours.
“These repairs are unrelated to the issues that happened earlier in the week.”
