A FORMER Hampshire country pub in the South Downs National Park is being converted into a motorist-focused coffee shop.
Caffeine and Machine has announced on its website that the West Meon Hut, now renamed The Hut, will reopen this spring, with an exact date to be announced.
A post on its website says: “The Hut is located in Hampshire, between the towns of Winchester and Petersfield.
Hampshire country pub: plan to enlarge car park withdrawn
READ MORE:“While we understand your excitement, we’d really appreciate it if you refrained from trying to visit until the site is fully open – until then, it’s still a building site, the car park won’t be accessible and parking on nearby roads and verges will cause unnecessary disruption to the local community. Once open, the venue will be added to the various navigational apps so you don’t have to mess about with postcodes.
“The former pub that we’ve taken on to create The Hut was once known as the West Meon Hut. We’ve chosen to name it Caffeine&Machine: The Hut as a nod to its previous life.”
Caffeine and Machine previously submitted a planning application to the South Downs National Park to expand the size of the car park. The business withdrew the application at the end of November.
Caffeine and Machine has been reached for comment.
