A ROAD in Romsey will be closed for two weeks for work on a housing development.
Winchester Road will be closed between Botley Road and the Sun Inn from Monday, February 12 to Friday, February 23.
In a letter to residents, Wilson Homes director Stuart Wilson explained that the closure is so “all-new connection works can be completed safely within the public highway”.
The letter read: “We would like to reassure you that all the statutory service providers will be working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete this work without delay and the road will be re-opened once final resurfacing has been completed.
“We appreciate that works of this nature will create disruption for residents and local businesses and would like to apologise for any inconvenience in advance.”

Warning signs will be in place at both ends of the closure and diversions will be in place.
Councillor Nick Adams-King said: “The initial request was for a longer period, with individual works and the work being carried out at the utility company's convenience rather than having any thought to the disruption it will cause.
“I'm very grateful to the Highways Permitting team who rejected those requests out of hand and insisted that the work be carried out at the least inconvenient time possible and that all utilities were coordinated for the work to be done at the same time in the shortest possible window.
“Therefore, the closure will occur during half term and the following week next month. There is no simple solution to the complexities and challenges that the closure will bring.”
