A WINCHESTER resident was honoured to be invited on a special trip to London.
Judith Rich, of Peninsula Barracks, chairs the Broad Street Ward Club in the City of London, promoting the history and traditions of England’s capital.
The club’s president, Alderman Michael Mainelli, was recently admitted as Lord Mayor of the City and Judith and other club members were privileged to present a gift to him at the Guildhall.
The following day Judith was invited to Mansion House, the Lord Mayor's home for the year, as his special guest to attend the Lord Mayor's Show.
Broad Street Ward Club entered a float in the show and her daughter, Catriona Boyd, walked in the procession dressed as Dick Whittington’s cat, a nod to him being an Alderman of the Ward of Broad Street before he became Lord Mayor three times.
