HENRY Beaufort School is reflecting on a successful Autumn term as it welcomes pupils back for the first time this year.
The school hosted a series of successful open events in September and October with more than 1,000 visitors over five events. The long-standing Battlefields Trip in October was once again successful with more than 200 students visiting the battlefields of World War One and Two, finishing with a visit to the Menin Gate and the Last Post Ceremony.
Pupils also visited Winchester University, Portsmouth Dock Yards and the Army Flying Museum and various religious venues as part of their Year 11 RE curriculum.
LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Council is urging all drivers and pedestrians to be cautious with it getting dark so early during the winter months.
The council is advising drivers to be aware of pedestrians, who may be difficult to see, walking in the road along the parts of the area where there are no pavements.
The council also recommends that pedestrians wear bright or reflective clothes so that they can be more visible to drivers.
Cyclists should also try to be as visible as possible by wearing hi-viz or reflective clothing, and make sure lights are fitted on bicycles.
THE thermal imaging camera is available to borrow again this winter for residents in Littelton and Harestock. Residents can check their homes to see where heat is escaping and cold air is entering.
Anyone wanting to borrow the camera should use the booking form on the council website and email it to clerk@lhpc.org.uk or drop a paper copy into the parish office. The project is part of Littleton and Harestock Parish Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE).
