A BURST sewer has been causing a stink in New Alresford.

Raw sewage has been coming out of a drain on Tichborne Down, near the junction with Linnets Road.

A large puddle of sewage has built up outside the Cricketers Pub, with parts of the path on Tichborne Down covered as well.

A Southern Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for the inconvenience this is causing customers. Our team is on the way to investigate to see if this is a burst or a blockage. Once we understand the problem we will take the appropriate action.”
