THE Otterbourne Women’s Institute (WI) celebrated 100 years with Winchester’s mayor and MP.
The group held a party at Otterbourne Village Hall with a cake to mark the milestone. Special guests Steve Brine, MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford, Cllr Angela Clear, Mayor of Winchester and Lady Louisa Portal, deputy lieutenant of Hampshire celebrated alongside members.
Mr Brine said: “Happy 100 years to Otterbourne Women's Institute who held a smashing party in Otterbourne Village Hall. It was my pleasure to go along and wish them well with the lovely Madam Mayor of Winchester.”
Guests were entertained by the Chantrelle Singers and before enjoying afternoon tea.
The WI encourages its members to take part in a variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities at monthly meetings. For more information go to hampshirewi.org.uk/.
