A GOLF club has raised more than £4,000 throughout the year for a dementia service in Romsey.

Ampfield Golf and Country Club presented a cheque for £4,611.73 to ROMDAG (Romsey Dementia Action Group) and Greenbuttercup Dementia Services.

Funds were raised throughout the year through activities such as raffles, cake sales and nominated bunkers (where players pay a fine if entered).

Richard Izard, club member, said: “It’s an amazing amount for such a small club and membership.
Every penny will go towards improving the lives of people living with dementia and will help run activities during the year such as a table tennis club. Costs are increasing all the time.”

Representatives from ROMDAG were invited to accept the donation on Sunday, December 9.

The dementia service aims to improve the lives of people living with dementia. The action group held its free Christmas party at Crosfield Hall in Romsey on Tuesday, December 19.
