A WINCHESTER supermarket is helping to brighten local children’s Christmas holidays.
Tesco Extra, in Easton Lane, Winnall, is collecting toy donations and sharing these with Winchester Round Table.
The Round Table volunteers, made up of men aged 18 to 40, will then deliver the toys to Winchester organisations such as The Women’s Refuge and Winchester Young Carers.

Customers are invited to donate toys at the front of the store in a specially designated trolley until Friday, December 22.
Lucy Burgess, community champion at Tesco Winchester Extra, said: “I would like to thank the people of Winchester for their generosity in supporting the toy appeal and The Winchester Round Table for kindly distributing the toys to the children of Winchester.”
Claire De Silva, head of community at Tesco, said: “Our stores work so hard throughout the year to support their communities through donating food and helping children have a stronger start in life. It is fantastic that customers in Winchester have been able to support this fantastic campaign this Christmas.”
