SOMBORNE Community Cinema has been awarded a grant from the Lottery Community Fund to screen films as part of the Cost of Living and Warm Spaces initiative.
Following on from the successful screenings at the beginning of the year, sponsored by Test Valley Borough Council, Monday Matinees are running again throughout the winter.
The twice-monthly event at King’s Somborne Village Hall starts at 2pm and is open to everyone. No tickets are needed and entry is free.

Roger Stephens, chair of the Somborne Community Cinema, said: “Somborne Community Cinema is a fantastic village hall facility and with the cold winter months fast approaching we hope the Monday Matinees will bring people together to socialise in a warm and friendly environment where they can enjoy some top-quality entertainment.”
The volunteer-led group has been running since 2021 with the aim of making cinema more accessible to the Test Valley area. Monday Matinees are running until March and will restart for the winter again in October.
The evening screenings on the second Thursday of each month will continue as normal. Tickets can be bought online or on the door for £6. Films start at 7.30pm, with a bar open on the night.
