SCHOOLS and community groups from in and around Alresford helped put together hundreds of shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for underprivileged children.
Alresford Rotary Club collected 451 boxes which will be delivered disadvantaged and displaced children in eastern Europe in early December.

Primary schools in in Alresford, West Meon, Cheriton, Ropley, and St. Peter’s, Winchester as well as Churches Together in Alresford, Old Alresford Mothers Union, Northington & Swarraton W.I. and New Alresford W.I. donated gifts.
Many of the boxes will be going to Ukrainian refugees as well as kids living in Moldova, Montenegro, Poland and Romania. For many it will be the first gift they have ever received.

The club is running a Christmas tree sale in Alresford town centre from 8am on Saturday, December 9.
