A YOUNG chef at a city centre pub has picked up a prize at the National Innovation in Training Awards.
Harry Widgery, who has been at the Wykeham Arms for just over two years, won the national apprentice of the year.
Wykeham Arms general manager Jon Howard paid tribute to his hard work over the last two years.

He said: “Harry has been an important member of The Wykeham Arms team for the past two years. He takes his apprenticeship seriously and is committed to continuing his growth within both our pub and the wider Fuller’s family.
“I’m so proud of what we achieve every day at The Wykeham and it's inspiring to see how the support of his team mates and his dedication to learning and developing his craft is building his confidence and skills. This award is testament to that. Harry has a very bright future ahead of him, a future head chef in the making for sure!”
