BLUEBIRD Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey has announced a new partnership with Osborne School to provide care and support to pupils with learning disabilities.
The partnership will see Bluebird Care provide a dedicated team of care assistants to aid pupils with personal care, moving and positioning, and nutrition and hydration.
This will mean that teachers will no longer be relied upon for personal care, allowing them to instead focus on the children’s education to ensure they can achieve the best possible grades.
The collaboration brings two ‘outstanding’ rated providers together, with Osborne achieving the highest grade from Ofsted, and Bluebird Care being rated five-star outstanding by the CQC. Osborne School is a maintained special school for pupils with learning disabilities aged 11-19, while Bluebird Care provides care and support to people of all ages in their own homes.

Osborne School supports 230 children and young adults, many with personal care needs. The pupils have a variety of learning and physical disabilities, and the Bluebird Care team are specially trained to support each of them.
Sonia White, headteacher at Osborne School, said: “Caring for pupils with diverse needs is at the heart of what we do, and we’re incredibly excited to form this innovative partnership. We’re proud to be rated outstanding, so it makes perfect sense to partner with another outstanding-rated provider like Bluebird Care, as we know our pupils will receive expert care and more classroom learning as a result.”
Norman Murphy, managing director of Bluebird Care Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey, added: “We’re delighted to form this partnership with Osborne School and make a meaningful difference to the lives of their pupils and teachers.
"It's fabulous to move our outstanding care from the home to the classroom, just where it’s needed in this case.”
