Having just read the latest edition of the Romsey Advertiser I feel moved to put pen to paper and write to you regarding the redevelopment of the Crosfield Hall.
I can understand that the current hall is not fit for purpose going forward.
Current hall users expect decent heating, bathroom facilities and modern communications such as broadband and wi-fi to be available. So if we accept that the present hall cannot be economically upgraded then its replacement is necessary. However, the proposed siting seems to be the biggest issue raised by concerned users (i.e. out of town beyond the rapids site). So why not solve two big issues within the Romsey town centre and build a new hall on the old Strong's brewery site which has sat vacant for over twenty years?
The existing Crosfield Hall site could then be redeveloped into further car parking or a new bus station if required.
Hope this moves the conversation forward into a solution.
