STUDENT musicians, principal Sara Russell and the student union helped put together Peter Symonds’ annual Remembrance event.
Trumpeters Jacob Gibbs, Ptolemy Grevitt, Simon Lloyd, Felix Thomson and Daniel Tickle were supported by Julian Poore, the college’s head of Brass, in rehearsing to perform The Last Post and Reveille.
Representatives from the college’s Student Union, Enrichment and Boarding teams also attended the service on Friday, November 10.

Principal Sara Russell said: “I am proud that the whole college community came together today to remember the civilians and service personnel who have given their lives to serve their country.
“We are acutely aware that conflict continues in the world today and we think of all those affected, near and far.”
Symonds students also supported other remembrance services held in and around Winchester. Livia Bayley played at St Mary's Church, Kings Worthy as part of the local primary school’s event and Elias Simojoki played at The Castle offices of Hampshire County Council.
Student union officers Clemmie Kennett, charities and Cadi West, environment, will be representing the college at the Winchester Cathedral Remembrance Service on Sunday, November 12.
