A WINCHESTER man has been fined for avoiding paying a £203 train fare.
Ollie Beer, 30, of Teg Down Meads, Teg Down, has been ordered to pay nearly £900 by magistrates.
A court heard that on August 8 Beer travelled on a Great Western Railway service from Southampton Central station without paying the fare of £207.80 and with intent to avoid payment.

Beer was found guilty in his absence at Crawley Magistrates Court in West Sussex on Wednesday November 8.
He was fined £440 and ordered to pay compensation of £103.90 to Great Western Railway, half the avoided fare, a victim surcharge of £176 and prosecution costs of £180.
The penalties totalling £899.90 must be paid by December 31, the court ordered.
