The shine was taken off the good news about the retention of rail ticket offices as reported in “Delight at U-turn on Railway Ticket Offices” (Hampshire Chronicle, November 2), by MPs Flick Drummond and Steve Brine.
Together with the Rail Delivery Group, they reiterated the veiled threat of future “revenge” in the form of other cuts.
As ever, the price of retaining freedom will be constant vigilance.
