CRIME reported in Winchester has decreased, but the number of violent and sexual offences reported has increased, the latest police figures show.

In September 2023, the most recent month available, 762 crimes were reported across the borough, which is down from 817 crimes reported in the previous month of August, according to data.police.uk.

The most common category was violence and sexual offences, with 295 offences reported, which is up from 265 reports in August.

Anti-social behaviour offences were the second-most common category, with 102 reports during the month, followed by 86 reports of public order offences.
