MEMBERS of Alresford Rotary enjoyed an enlightening trip to Thruxton Airfield to learn more about the work Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance does after they raised hundreds of pounds for the good cause.
The proceeds of the Rotary club's highly successful 17th annual 10K run in June were donated to the charity that runs the service, totalling £3,500.
A group of Rotarians met the on-call crew and were given an in-depth insight into the work of the HIOWAA.
The tour ended with Alresford Rotary President Jon Pittam presenting a cheque for £3,500 to help continuation of the air ambulance’s life-saving service.
James Pinniger, a spokesperson for Alresford Rotary, said: "This was only possible because of the contribution from all the runners who participated from all over Hampshire and beyond and reflects the wonderful support of Alresford Rotary’s activities from the local community and further afield."
