While I am not a Romsey resident, my family has connections to the town through my late stepmother and her extended family.
I also worked close to the town between 1991 and 2003. My wife and I visit at least once a week.
The Crosfield Hall may not be a fashionable venue, but it supports many organisations based in the town and also from wider afield.
It has its own car park, with easy level access to the town, and the nearby bus station.
To move to a new hall across the bypass (A3090), would, in my honest opinion, not be good, as pedestrians would have to walk further, and cross the main road etc. A great disincentive to visit a venue in my view, especially for the infirm or disabled.
Surely, modernise the existing Crosfield Hall, but please, do not make a great mistake by closing/demolishing the current hall, and regret the action afterward!
