THIRTY-five runners have taken part in the Great South Run in aid of Naomi House and Jacksplace, raising £5,500 for the hospices.
Six of the runners were staff members from the charity.
The 10-mile run took place on Sunday, October 15, under ideal race conditions. There was a lively presence from spectators along the route, including volunteers from Naomi House and Jacksplace on top of a bus cheering on their colleagues.
The efforts of the runners mean that around 250 hours of nursing care can be funded at the hospices.

Dr Tim Warlow, from Naomi House and Jacksplace, said: “The work the hospice does to support children and young adults is essential and should be available to more children and families. I am passionate about providing the best quality of life for these children and want to do everything I can to support and expand the service.”
Charlotte Patrick, event team leader, said: “We're delighted to see the highest number of runners supporting us at the Great South Run this year, it's been a pleasure to support them on their fundraising and running journey.
“It was wonderful to be able to cheer them all on during the race. Their fundraising efforts have been amazing and will make such a positive impact on our service users and families and will allow them to continue making precious lasting memories.”
