A HAMPSHIRE woman has helped create an eye-catching display of knitted poppies in Winchester city centre.
Sue Butcher has been coordinating the displays since 2018.
The knitted poppies are on show on the railing outside Winchester Cathedral, outside Abbey House in The Broadway and at the Hospital of St Cross.
Mrs Butcher, 76, said: “We've got a few people involved, mainly from the Knit and Natter group in Sutton Scotney. We first started doing it in 2018.

“It's important that we remember the people who have died in war. That includes the wars going on at the moment.”
The Sutton Scotney resident is the chairman of the women's section of the Winchester branch of the Royal British Legion.
She told the Chronicle that her grandfather fought in World War One.
She added: “We put them up on October 16 and they come down the week after Remembrance Day, in time for the start of the cathedral's Christmas market.”
