She also met senior school head, Jane Gandee, and toured the prep school with new head Liz Norris.
One of the highlights of Mrs Drummond's visit was her interaction with a number of A Level politics students, offering them a first-hand insight into the life of an MP.
To round off her visit Mrs Drummond enjoyed lunch with the prep school pupils.
She said: “I was truly inspired by the bright minds and the enthusiasm of the students at St Swithun’s.
"Hearing their aspirations and discussing the issues that matter to them was uplifting as well as learning about the work the school does in our local communities. The future is in capable hands, and it's a privilege to be a part of their educational journey.”
Mrs Gandee said: "Having Mrs Drummond visit our school was an invaluable experience for our students. It demonstrated to them the tangible link between education and politics, and how MPs are genuinely interested in the views of their future constituents.”
