I was very surprised to learn recently that Bushfield Camp is still derelict.
My National Service took me to Winchester Barracks for 12 weeks basic training in the late 1950s.
I then served the remaining 21 months working in the officers' mess at Bushfield.
There was also some army records section working at Bushfield but quite a long way from where we were. I have several photos showing both the inside and the outside of Bushfield, should you ever do an article on this camp. I'm sure I could arrange for some copies.
