A ROMSEY musician is seeing success after several sellout gigs across Hampshire.

Originally from North Baddesley, Rob Clamp debuted in 2020 with his single Wind in My Hair.

Since then, the former Mountbatten School pupil has featured on BBC Introducing and won the Purbeck Rising 2022 award and the Sofia International Singer Songwriter Festival 2022.

Following sold-out shows at The Joiners and Heartbreakers in Southampton, Rob is now preparing to perform at the Railway Inn in Winchester on Saturday, October 21.

Following this, he will be supporting Frank Turner at the Railway Inn in December.

Rob said: “I have felt incredibly blessed to have had so much support over the last 12 months and the shows I have coming up at the end of 2023 really will put the cherry on top of what has been a great year for me.

“I grew up listening to both Frank Turner and James Walsh (Starsailor), both having quite the influence on me - so to be able to support both of them over the course of the same weekend in December is something really special for me.

“The following week (December 15) I will be taking my full band to support Southampton icon Sean McGowan at the 1865 too, that month just looks surreal in my diary.

“Selling out The Joiners in Southampton was the main aim at the start of the year and to then go on to sell out Heartbreakers (Southampton) and The Railway (Winchester) too has felt incredible. Performing at Victorious, Carfest, Wickham and Purbeck festivals were also a major highlight.”

He continued: “I’m thrilled to be releasing my debut album in early 2024, following on from performing at The UK West Coast Folk Festival (formally The Great British Folk Festival) on the introducing stage in Blackpool in January.”
