Foodies of Winchester are in for a treat as they can now pick up trout pate and fillets direct from a Winnall smokery.
A popular stalwart of Hampshire and Surrey Farmers’ Markets, Butler Country Estates is opening its own 'Troutlet' to better serve those who like to shop and eat local.
The shop will be stocked with their own smoked trout pates. These come in a wide variety of flavours including classic plain, watercress, dill, and chilli. They also have dairy-free pates.

The beetroot and horseradish pate, recently picked up a prestigious Two Star Great Taste Award.
The Troutlet, in Easton Lane, will also sell fresh and smoked trout as whole fish and fillets. It will be open weekly from October 5, on Thursdays and Fridays between 12pm and 4pm. There is plenty of free car parking and good disabled access.
Managing director Richard Butler said: “Our customers have been asking us to open a shop for ages and we are excited to be bringing them the Troutlet. As proud members of Hampshire Fare, we are also hoping to be selling products from other local producers in the Troutlet soon.”
