“Lorette has been an amazing staff member of both the Union and the University for more than 15 years and we are deeply saddened by her passing. In support with our colleagues within the SU community who are coming to terms with this news, all Student Union services and events will be paused today (September 19) and the Union will remain closed. The Union will reopen tomorrow (September 20). Please note Give it a Go sessions can still continue.
“Our deepest sympathies are with Lorette’s family, friends and colleagues. We thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time and ask that the privacy of Lorette’s family is respected over the coming days.
“Any students or colleagues across the wider University who may feel the need for support in light of this news can make contact with the Chaplaincy Team or Student Support and Success reception (for students) or Laura Skelton, Deputy Director of Human Resources for staff support over the coming days. A book of condolences is also available today in the Chapel.”
