SPARSHOLT Village Fete will be opened by the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Angela Clear, at 1pm at the Memorial Green on Saturday, September 23.
Entertainment by Sparsholt School, The Lockerley Silver Band, Riley’s Balloons and Magic and St Stephen’s Church Bell Ringers will be on in the centre of the village until 5pm.
The event will conclude with a parade of floats finishing at The Plough Inn for judging and an evening of entertainment.
Other activities include a dog show, classic cars, tombola, pony rides and food and drink stalls.
SPARSHOLT’S annual pet service will be open on Sunday, September 24. The service organised by Sparsholt School will be on the green in Woodman Close from 10am.
Residents are invited to bring their pets or animal cuddly toys and a chair to sit on to join in and enjoy the refreshments.
SPARSHOLT Village Shop’s annual Macmillan Coffee Morning is on Friday, September 29.
The coffee morning is 8am until 4pm and is always popular. For more details contact Janette in the shop.
SPARSHOLT Memorial Hall is seeking new committee members. Two new volunteers are needed to help the group of villagers look after and manage the hall.
After 25 years, Liz West is stepping down as booking secretary but will be on available throughout the handover to advise and pass on relevant information.

KINGS Worthy Parish Council is recruiting a new councillor. The position will be filled by co-option at a meeting on Monday, September 25. Nominations should be sent by post or email to the parish clerk Christopher Read at clerk@kingsworthy-pc.org.uk by midday on Friday, September 22.
‘The Great Kings Worthy Clean Up – Autumn Litter Pick’ returns on Saturday, September 30. Litter pickers will meet at Tubbs Hall for clean up from 2pm until 4pm.
Equipment and refreshments will be provided. Children will receive a certificate for taking part but must be accompanied by an adult.
THE Worthys Youth Football Club is hosting a quiz night on Saturday, October 14 at the Worthies Sports and Social Club. Maximum of six per team, costing £3 per player. The quiz starts at 7.30pm. To book a table email wyouthfc.fundraising@gmail.com.
THE Worthies Craft and Makers Market returns on Sunday, September 24. The craft fair covers two rooms at The Worthies Sports and Social Club and is free to attend from 10am to 2pm. There will also be a raffle, hot food, tea and coffee and a bar open from midday. Free parking is available.
There will be three sales before the new year including a Christmas craft fair on Sunday, November 19.
LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE) is organising a mini Eco-Fair outside the March Hare pub on Saturday, September 30.
The group is planning to provide information on energy efficiency, recycling opportunities, waste prevention and more.
WINCHESTER City Festival Choir is back rehearsing at Littleton Memorial Hall. The group, of around 50 members, meets 7.40pm to 9.30pm on Wednesdays during school terms. The choir is looking for more singers including men, tenors, bass and sopranos to come and join them.
