RAIN could not deter the TakeNOTE singers and their audience taking part in the Heritage Open Days festival.
The singers entertained some 100 people at Wolvesey Castle on Sunday.
Choir director Carolyn Robson said: “ We raised some £600 from donations after the concert which we divided between out two charities, English Heritage and Winchester Basics Bank.
"We are very grateful to the Northumbrian Pipers who also played and to the audience whose enthusiasm, and willingness to watch us outdoors in the rain, was something we all valued very much, and which our charities will benefit from.”
