Letter: 'This is no amateur affair but professionally organised'

Normally I would have read this and moved on however then I noticed that according to the article there was a link to Caffeine and Machine.

There is a Caffeine and Machine near Leamington Spa who have established a fantastic meeting place for cars and their proud owners to meet as the name suggests for refreshments and food while admiring their vehicles. This is no amateur affair but professionally organised, sensible and strictly controlled, the owners and their vehicles some of which are high-value classic cars taking understandable care when driving to and from. 

For a long time now there has been a need in this area for owners of cars and bikes to meet and chat, swap stories and admire their pride and joy’s something the current Caffeine and Machines demonstrate so well. 

So if this is the case that this might be in planning can I appeal to all those that are objecting that car meets don’t have to mean antagonism and anti-social behaviour.

Also it’s worth noting that the amount of newly installed speed cameras along the surrounding roads make speeding practically impossible. 

The local economy, more jobs in the catering of the new venue and surrounding area would also benefit.

So c’mon local council give it a go, I’m sure I speak for all enthusiasts when we say let’s have somewhere organised and controlled to meet. 

By the way I’m no youngster, 61 this year.
