THREE residents of a Winchester hostel have been convicted of numerous offences.
One received a suspended prison sentence for repeatedly stealing from shops.
All three live at West View House in Hyde Gate, Hyde.
Kevin Lambert, 37, admitted two counts of stealing from the Co-op on City Road on July 10 and July 16 and was ordered to pay £45 in compensation.
Ashik Ali, 47, pleaded guilty to three thefts - an Amazon parcel valued at £35.99 from Amber Clark on July 29, three dresses valued at £630 from Sass and Edge on Market Street on July 28 and goods valued at £48 from Boots on the High Street.
Basingstoke Magistrates Court considered prison because Ali is a "persistent offender of dishonesty offences and continued to do so while on a community order".
He was jailed for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months and was ordered to undertake drugs rehabilitation for 12 months and pay £85 prosecution costs.
Another resident, Daniel Casey, 44, admitted to racially aggravated threatening behaviour, possession of cannabis, stealing goods valued at £346.80 from TK Maxx in the Brooks Centre and failing to attend court and is due to be sentenced on September 13 at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
